Does anyone remember that song from Will Smith (The Fresh Prince) "Parents Just Don't Understand?" I think that is me. I never thought it would be me, but now it is. I just don't understand why a kid with so much potential can just throw away his priviledges and grades that were As to make them Fs, just because he feels like it... It isn't that he doesn't understand the work, but that he just doesn't feel like doing it... The sad part is that I know he is doing his homework at home, but even though he does the homework he still chooses not to turn it in!!!! It is SO frustrating!!! We have grounded him and we took away just about every priviledge there is from video games, to playing with his friends, to TV. He didn't blink an eye. I think he thinks I will cave and give everything back, but not this time, buddy! Oh no! I have learned from my mistakes, and I will not be caving in this time! (She grins with an evil villain sort of grin...)
