Life is changing
It is a beautiful, warm day in the neighborhood. Plans are under way now for my mom to move to CO. She has hired the movers, and Brian bought his plane ticket to fly out there and help mom drive her car back to CO. Mom is also taking a week off in May to pack and get rid of stuff she's not taking with her. It looks as though Mom will probably have to move into Konnor's room and Konnor will move to the couch for a couple of weeks. It will be summer vacation though and I really don't think he will care. Oh yeah, and about having a graduation party... we have decided that we will try to have a cookout on the evening of May 12th, and if the weather is cruddy we will clear out the garage and have a garage party. I have picked out a recipe for a strawberry cake to make for it too. I thought long and hard about it, and I have never really had a birthday party or a graduation party when I graduated high school. I never had a big wedding, although we did have a small reception. I have never had a bridal shower or a baby shower. I think it is my turn to have a party to celebrate one of my biggest accomplishments. I worked hard and I think it will be fun to have a party. So...... LET"S PARTY!!!!

Friday Morning
It going to be a beautiful weekend, in the 80's and sunny. Konnor has today off from school so he spent the night with his friend, Weston. I am getting ready to head off for work. Fridays are the days I work 8:30-5:30 instead of 8-5, so I have a little extra time on Friday mornings to pay bills, do my hair, etc. Other than Konnor's soccer game and a baby shower I have to go to tomorrow, we don't have any big plans for the weekend. Baby showers are always hard for me to attend, but this time I don't have to stay the whole time because I will have to leave early to go to Konnor's soccer game. (Thank God for soccer games!) Hope everyone is doing well. It's off to work I go...

Summer is around the Corner
Time sure has slipped past me. Easter was fun, then it was Brian's birthday on April 16th. We spent a long weekend in Vegas for his birthday which was a lot of fun! We are just working alot. Konnor will be visiting the middle school next week and will be out of school for the summer May 25th. I graduate college May 12th, but I don't know yet if we will have a party or anything. My mom has hired the movers to bring her things to Colorado. It will be nice and kind of weird to have some of my own family close to me again. I have not lived close to any of my family since I was 18. I am definitely NOT 18 anymore. Let's not talk about my upcoming birthday. I kind of wish I could just forget about it. Well anyway, Konnor is starting to look like he needs some attention. I better get going.

It is all coming together
Time sure slips past without any warning. Konnor is seeing eye to eye to Brian's mom and almost to me. Today he had soccer practice, but Brian was running late to get him there so Konnor called his coach and arranged for a ride all by himself. He has also been home all week on spring break by himself. He fixes his own food and does his chores before we get home. I am so proud of his new independence. I am so proud, yet so sad. He no longer wants "toys" for his birthday or Christmas. He hid all his stuffed animals in his closet in case his friends come over so they won't think he's a little kid. Pretty soon he will be two hands full plus one, and heading to middle school next year. Sometimes I wonder what it would have been like if we had more than one child, then I look at him and think about all the time and attention we have been able to give to him and I thank God he is our only child. I look at my friend's two kids and see how they have to compete for attention, and what one has the other one wants. I think Konnor is lucky to not have to compete. Of course, having only one child is not for everyone, but it works for us. God had a plan for our family that maybe we didn't understand at first, but it is all coming together now.
