Brian's Dad
Happy Birthday to Brian's dad, Randy, today!!!!!! Randy is part owner and the Parts Manager of a large John Deere dealership in our area. He has been there for over 25 years. Randy is the 2nd son of 3 by Grandma and Grandpa (Harold and Eileen.) He and Brian's mom, Pat, have been married 40 years and have two kids, Brian's older sister Teri and of course, Brian. They have 3 grandchildren, Joshua, Rheannon, and Konnor. The best part about Brian's dad is that he can make a joke of just about anything and make everyone laugh. He loves to "pick on" Konnor, and our dogs, and get everyone stirred up. Then he laughs. He eats really healthy food all the time, but loves his wine and ice cream. (not together, of course.) For down time, you can usually find him asleep in his recliner chair in front of the TV, but when he wakes up he loves the 60 Minutes news show on Sunday nights, Oakland Raiders football, and NHRA drag racing. The best part about Randy is that he would do anything for anyone to help. He is a work-a-holic, but also when we didn't know if Konnor locked himself out or not the other day he drove 25 minutes out of his way with his house key to unlock the door. When I asked him if he had to work on my graduation day he said he would come to my graduation and make it work. He also always tries to make it to Konnor's football games, soccer games, wrestling meets, and track meets. Best of all, he is Brian's best friend.

Here I am!

I feel I hardly have time anymore to sit down and blog and I sure do miss it. The weather here has been fabulous lately, so of course, we have been spending more time outside. My mom has decided to move here probably in the beginning of July, so getting her here and helping her to settle in will be on our agenda for the summer. It will be different having my mom here, and not in SC. I hope she likes it here, and I hope she will be able to make it feel like home, as I have.
Oh yeah, and we found out Sunday in church that we will be getting the Army chaplain I mentioned in an earlier blog as our new pastor in June. It is exciting to finally have some permanency where our church is concerned. Konnor is growing like a weed. He has a "girlfriend" who is a triplet, but she is the only girl in the set of triplets. He is playing soccer right now. His first game of the season is this Saturday. Konnor will also be in two skits our church is putting on, he will be a disciple in the "Last Supper" and a tree stump in a play for our Easter contata. He is actually pretty good at the acting and public speaking thing, as long as he doesn't have to sing. Well, I just wanted to catch up a little on my blog. I am a HUGE American Idol fan, and of course it is on tonight. I am not too sure yet who I am hoping to win, but I think Melinda Doolittle is awesome!

Ahhh!! Relief!!!
Finally about a week and half later this household can start getting back to normal since Brian and I are finally over our sicknesses. Konnor started to get a cough for about 2 days and then it went away. The weather has been gorgeous and in the 70's. Konnor wore shorts to school today for the first time since the nice weather has begun. He starts soccer practice tomorrow with his first game on March 24th. So, we will be busy with practices twice a week and games on Saturdays until the end of April. Work is going well. I will write more later... American Idol is coming on....

The Sicky Sick Blues
I have been so sicky sick this week. My boss finally insisted I go to the doctor on Thursday afternoon and they told me I had bronchitis. Brian has also been sick, but he didn't go to the dr. Even though I will be finished with my meds on Monday I sure still don't feel like I am getting any better. Each day I think I am going to get up in the morning and be cured and sometimes I do feel a little better but by lunch time I am feeling cruddy again. I forced myself to get some laundry and bills done this morning. I also have to go to the grocery store, but hopefully I will not poop out in the middle of the store! It stinks to be sick. All I want is to feel better so I can clean my house. I am sure Brian would love to feel better too. Keep us in your prayers! And also pray that Konnor doesn't get it too!

Spring in the Rockies

What a beautiful "spring" day! The temps were in the 50s and the sun was shining! After Sunday school, Konnor played outside all afternoon with some of his neighborhood friends. (Poor Brian was sick inside all day with the crud.) Ah to be a kid again, though. Riding bikes, climbing on dirt hills, and playing at the park. Sounds like a fun day to me! I am making chicken noodle soup in the crockpot for dinner, in hopes that it will cure Brian from the crud. Back to work and school tomorrow. Spring break is quickly approaching for Konnor the first week of April. Brian is taking a couple of days off to take Konnor golfing and maybe to take him to the rec center to teach him how to play raquetball. Let's hope for good weather!

A Good Night's Rest
Whew! Who knew working full time again would take up so much of my time??? Where did this week go? I am so tired! Luckily, Brian took Konnor to a hockey game tonight and I actually got some time to myself. My shoulders have been hurting me real bad. I don't know if it is stress or just "old age" creeping up on me. I can't seem to get any quality sleep at night because I can't get comfortable and while working all day the pain just intensifies. I know I need to see a doctor, but who has time for that?? My poor sister had surgery last week, and I did try to call her last Sat. night but she wasn't home, and with all I have to do this weekend I don't know when I'll get another chance to call. Sometimes I feel like I have so much going on my eyes are spinning like a slot machine! Oh well. God has blessed us so much I know I shouldn't complain. I guess all I am asking for is a good night's rest.
