It is all coming together
Time sure slips past without any warning. Konnor is seeing eye to eye to Brian's mom and almost to me. Today he had soccer practice, but Brian was running late to get him there so Konnor called his coach and arranged for a ride all by himself. He has also been home all week on spring break by himself. He fixes his own food and does his chores before we get home. I am so proud of his new independence. I am so proud, yet so sad. He no longer wants "toys" for his birthday or Christmas. He hid all his stuffed animals in his closet in case his friends come over so they won't think he's a little kid. Pretty soon he will be two hands full plus one, and heading to middle school next year. Sometimes I wonder what it would have been like if we had more than one child, then I look at him and think about all the time and attention we have been able to give to him and I thank God he is our only child. I look at my friend's two kids and see how they have to compete for attention, and what one has the other one wants. I think Konnor is lucky to not have to compete. Of course, having only one child is not for everyone, but it works for us. God had a plan for our family that maybe we didn't understand at first, but it is all coming together now.

Sounds like he's getting all grown up! It's sad but it's gonna happen sooner or later, right? I'm so glad that God gave Konnor to you and your husband. I know that having him to love as your own menas the world to you both! Take care of him even if he doesn't want you to! He'll appreciate it later!!!!!
Time certainly does fly by, doesn't it! You and Brian have done a wonderful job raising Konnor; not only should you be proud of him, but you should be proud of yourselves, too.
