John Paul Jones

Last night Konnor had to be John Paul Jones (Father of the American Navy) in a "wax museum" for social studies. The kids (all dressed up like someone from American history) held signs of who they were supposed to be and you were supposed to press the "button" on their signs to make them talk, as if you were in a wax museum. It was kind of a cool idea, and even though Konnor wasn't too excited to do it at first, I think he secretly enjoyed it. I "made" his costume. I found a frilly woman's blouse and red blazer at the thrift store, got a gold rope tie for drapes and pinned it to his shoulder, found an old doiley at the thrift store with gold fringe on it and cut it up and pinned them to his shoulders, and then his teacher made his hat out of posterboard. Ta da! (I don't sew and I am not too artisitc, but safety pins saved the day!!!!)
