Frustrated
We have all been feeling a little cruddy this week. I have a sore throat and stuffy nose, Konnor has a stuffy nose, and Brian's stomach hasn't been 100% since he is on anti-biotics. I guess it is a good thing that I don't have to start my new job until Monday. I am anxious to get started, but it will certainly be an adjustment going from not working to working full time. I hope everyone is ready for it!
I know I have mentioned this in the past and my mom has been telling me to do this for a long time now, but I am so ready to find a new church. We still don't have a permanent pastor, and the youth group Brian and I tried to build last year that we had to give up because we had too much going on, has fallen apart. There is hardly any Sunday school class to speak of for Konnor or a youth group for him to get involved in. They talk about doing all these wonderful things, but then nothing ever happens. So, since my mom is planning to move out here this year, maybe she will have to go with us to find a church we can all go to together.
I know you should be able to serve the Lord and worship Him wherever you go, but I also feel some other things are important. I believe it is important to have a strong youth program. I also believe that there should be a strong men's leadership in the church. I don't mean that I think women can't hold leadership roles too, but in our church Brian is one of the only husbands or fathers that attends or gets involved. You only see the wives and mothers bringing their kids to church, and hardly any dads. Of course, you always have single parent circumstances, and that's not what I am talking about. I am talking about women who are married and their husbands are at home while they bring their children to church every week. It is sad. Then, these same kids whose dads never come to church act so disrespectful to their mothers and in the church and my opinion is that if the dads were more involved then the kids would also take church more seriously and less like it is a playground to run and play in. I guess this is a sore subject for me.

You could always move to Beaufort and go to St. Helena Baptist.... Just an idea! Good luck on finding a new church. Just pray about it and God will lead you in the right direction.
