What does being busy mean?

I read somewhere the other day an article by Joyce Meyer (the TV evangelist), that it is common these days when we run into someone we know to say "Hey, how are you?" and hear a reply like this, "Oh I have been SO BUSY!" Everyone nowadays is busy, busy, busy. I thought that cell phones, email, and all the other bells and whistles were supposed to make our lives easier, but instead they just complicate things more. We have more things to go to, people to see, stuff to buy, homework to do, deadlines to meet, etc. Joyce Meyers made a good point. If you are busy, then you're not really accomplishing anything. You are just occupying your time or biding time, whatever the case may be. When we tell someone we have been busy, what does that really mean? Does it mean we have been too busy to talk to people we love? Are we too busy to take care of the things that really matter? Staying busy does have its good points. For example, if you live alone or if you just lost someone special, etc. then staying busy could keep your mind off of things that cause pain. Other than that, busy is just busy. It is nothing special. It is grocery shopping, picking up the dry cleaning, putting gas in the car, balancing your checkbook, cleaning the house, running from one meaningless errand to the next. Take time out for yourself. Take time out to re-evaluate why you are so "busy", and find time to accomplish something meaningful and special, like making friends, keeping friends, making someone else feel good, fill an album full of old pictures that have been sitting in a shoebox for years, bake a cake for your neighbor or co-worker's birthday and surprise them, invite someone to spend quality time with you without the cell phones, pagers, and emails.

Lori's Dad says that being busy means: Being Under Satan's Yoke....
Brings a whole new meaning to the word, doesn't it?
I have been busy lately but I will find time to re-evaluate things and take time for me!
