Happy New Year! These pictures just about sum up our holidays. We played and we rested. We also ate too much! For New Year's Day I made some grilled pork chops, Hoppin' John, Pork Gravy, and asparagus (because I don't like greens!) Eating Hoppin' John, greens and pork is an old southern tradition. Black eyed peas eaten with pork or fish on New Year's Day is supposed to be good luck, and eating greens on New Year's Day is supposed to put dollars in your pockets. Since we are leaving Thursday to go to Las Vegas I sure do hope all of that proves true!!!!!!! I also hope all of you ate your pork, Hoppin John and greens!!!!
