Fall

(Konnor (red) talking to his cousins: Dustin, Tyler, Garrett, LeeAnn, and Lindsay.)
We are just about a month away from my favorite time of year, which is the fall. In the fall, it is still warm enough to get away with not wearing a jacket, but still cool enough to not be so darn hot! The kids are back in school, the leaves are changing colors, and you can feel the crispness in the morning air. In about October the leaves start falling off the trees, and the wind carries them all around. We start seeing winter geese flying in formation above us. It is the time when we start putting away our summer clothes and start bringing out our sweaters and long sleeved shirts. Kids start thinking about what costume to wear for Halloween, and of course there's FOOTBALL! We also have TONS of pumpkin patches, corn field mazes and Haunted Houses to visit when we need something to entertain us. Oh yeah, and I love the smell of the smoke in the air from fireplaces and burning away fall leaves in the ditches. Konnor's favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. He loves when the family gathers together for our yummy turkey dinner, but most of all he loves pumpkin pie and FOOTBALL! The fall is also when Sunday school starts a new year after taking the summer off. The Women of Faith conference happens in Denver in the fall, too. My friend Kathi reserved me a ticket and a hotel room with her to go in September, but we haven't talked about it in a while so I guess I better find out if I am still going! If you've never been, the Women of Faith is (obviously) an all women Christian conference that happens on a Friday night and goes all day Saturday. There are real life testimonies, singing, singing and more singing, the music is awesome, and skits they act out about real life situations and how God has played a part in their lives. The women in this program are phenomenal. They could be coming to a stadium, theater, arena, or whatever around you! If they do, check them out, you surely won't regret it!!! Anyway, I can just tell fall is right around the corner. Summer will soon be over, and we will be draining the pool and storing it for the winter in a few short weeks. Where does the time go?

That sounds like fun stuff! I also love the fall because I get that sudden urge to clean the yard and decorate for the upcoming holidays. And then the weather is actually cooled off enough to walk around the neighborhood with Noah behind in the wagon. Ahhh, those are the days!
