Classroom Assignment

Well, the dreaded classroom assignment list was posted today for Konnor's school. He is at camp until Friday (and I am enjoying some much needed ME time). Long story short, Konnor cried and begged me to not make him be in Mrs. Swanson's class this coming year. I told him I could not control where he goes, but that I would speak to his 4th grade teacher to see if we could state a preference. I told his last teacher how strongly Konnor felt about going into Mrs. Swanson's class and that he preferred another teacher. Well, you guessed it! I checked the list today and Konnor is assigned to Mrs. Swanson. I don't even know the lady. She could be a wonderful teacher, but I do know my son, and if he starts off bad in the beginning it just gets WORSE! I am so worried about it that I have decided not to tell him that I know, but to tell him to ride his bike to the school when he gets home from camp instead, and let him find out on his own. Call me chicken, but I do know my son! I hope that he will have a better attitude than I am expecting him to have about the whole thing, but I doubt it. Either way, it looks like we have another "fun" school year ahead of us (NOT!)

I'm sure I will encounter this one year. My son is in Kindergarten this year. But he is in the same class as last year becasue they have a multi-age class (Pre-K4 & K). I wanted him to be in a regular K class but NOOOOO! Oh well, at least he is familiar with the class and teachers. He is learning so much. He amazes me everyday. He came home the other day and was showing me sign language. Which will come in handy because we have a deaf cousin. Good luck with the whole teacher thing!
